Morning Services

At 8.30am there is a traditional Book of Common Prayer communion service in the Chapel followed by breakfast served in the Café. 10.30am service is a contemporary style service with groups for children and youth. Tea & Coffee is available in the Café afterwards.

 

6.00pm Evening Service

A quiet reflective service in the chapel.

 

Closer 7.30pm

Tonight at 7.30pm we have our monthly Closer service. This service is for anyone who is interested in drawing closer to God through prayer, worship and listening. There will be an extended opportunity to sing God's praises with live music, there will be plenty of opportunities to listen for God's voice to us, there may well be some mini sermons, we will pray for others and there will be the opportunity to receive prayer for blessing and healing yourself.

Chit Chat

Chit Chat will take place thisMonday 19th February between

1.30 till 3.00pm, in the church cafe. Those coming will have the opportunity to meet with others for a chat, over a hot drink and biscuits. Members of the church family are there to welcome and chat. If you know of anyone you think would like to come please ask them! If anyone needs a lift or would like to learn more about Chit Chat, please ring Sarah Rogerson on 01302 535747.

 

Fuse Youth Café

Fuse meets on Tuesday 20th February at 7.00pm. Fuse Youth Café provides a safe and fun hang out place for teenagers to enjoy time with their friends.  Drinks and doughnuts are often in evidence with opportunities to take part in fun activities and have the potential to explore matters of faith.  Please pray for Fuse Youth Café as they meet each week. If you know of any teenagers who might be interested in coming along please invite them.

 

Farewell Service

We have received an open invitation to Rev. Andrew Mumford's farewell service atCantley Methodist Churchon21st Februaryat7.30pm. The service will be followed by refreshments.

Green Pastures Awareness Evening
On Wednesday 21st February, 7.30pm at Powerhouse Church, Christ Church, Thorne Road, Doncaster. Green Pastures is a national Christian social enterprise that releases Churches (& Christian Charities) to end homelessness in their locality.  Green Pastures in Doncaster will be launched this year. The aim is to help some of the most vulnerable and needy people in area.  A short presentation will be followed by a Question and Answer session. Food and refreshments will be provided and opportunity for you to meet with the trustees and connect with others who have a heart for the homeless. All Welcome.

Refuel

EveryThursdaythere is a weekly event designed to give a mid week spiritual, emotional and physical refuel. Meeting at3pmin themeeting room. Refuel will start with a short reading from scripture followed by a few inspirational thoughts. Then we can relax while listening to worship music in the awareness of God's love and peace. Finishing with the opportunity to receive prayer ministry in a relaxed way in order to complete the mid-week refuel.

 

Men's Group

The next meeting of the men's group is Thursday 22nd Februaryat 7.30pmfor food at Cosmo at the Frenchgate Centre. As we will need to book a table please could you email admin.francisofassisi@gmail.com or sign the sign up sheet in the entrance hall to let us know numbers.

Morning Prayer/Prayer Requests

Morning Prayer is held daily in the Chapel at the following times:

Monday 10.15 Tuesday, Thursday and Friday Morning Prayer is at 9.30 am.  Saturdays Morning Prayer is at 9.00 am, if you are unable to get to Morning Prayer, you can pray and read scripture online:   https://www.churchofengland.org/prayer-worship/join-us-in-daily-prayer.aspx 

On Wednesday mornings we have a service of Holy Communion in the Chapel at 9.30 am.

If you have a specific prayer request please fill in a slip and pop it in the prayer box. If you have an urgent and emergency prayer request please text 07493191852 with details of your prayer request.  If you would like to be one of the people who prays for any of these prayer requests, come along to morning prayer or text your name and the phrase "I'm happy to pray"  to 07493191852.

 

Maureen Brydon - NEW

We are sorry to announce that for personal reasons Maureen has chosen to stand down as Safeguarding Officer and Assistant Administrator.  Our thanks to Maureen for all her hard work and support over the last year.

 

Fairtrade Fortnight - NEW

There will be an Open Day at 25 Ellers Lane, Auckley on Tuesday 6th March between10.30am till4.30pm. Products from Traidcraft including food, crafts, ornaments, confectionery, jewellery, stationery, toys, gifts and cards will be on sale and refreshments will be available.

 

Supporting ourMissionPartner- NEW

Wadworth with Loversall Mothers Union are hosting a number of Lent Projects in support of the Literacy programme.  Details of this can be found in the foyer. 

 

Walk4JulieA Date For Your Diary. Barbara and Alan Homar are organizing another sponsored walk this year which will take place onSunday 22nd April.  It will start at2.00pmfrom St Francis church and go round theLakeside. Refreshments will again be available in the cafe

after the walk.

 

Holiday@Home

After the success of our first Holiday@Home last August we are now planning to have one this year on August 8th, 9th and 10th.  We had a lot of wonderful help from many people last year and are now asking for help this August.  Everyone who is interested in helping or wants to know more about Holiday@Home is invited to join us in the Den on Wednesday February 28that1.30pm.  If you are unable to come but want to be involved please speak to Sarah or Marlene.

 

Co-op Local Community Fund

The Co-op support of Integrate has now finished. However, we have been lucky enough to be successful a second time for the JOY project. If you haven't already done so please can you alter the cause you are supporting from Integrate to JOY. Ecclesiastical Insurance  

This scheme has now been extended until December 2018. Ecclesiastical Insurance are celebrating their 130th anniversary. Charities and Missions

Shelteris our charity for February and March. In 1966Shelterwas born with the vision of speaking for the millions of homeless hidden people inBritain.  The charity aims to make the public aware of homelessness and to raise money for under-funded housing associations.  Now, 52 years later,Sheltercontinues to help millions of people struggling with bad housing or homelessness, exacerbated by the housing shortage. Shelterprovides vital legal advice and challenges councils.  Please support the work ofShelterby initialling a brick and putting a donation in the box.  Thank you.
