The organising team of the Mothers' Union Fun Day would like to say a huge 'Thank You' to everyone at St Francis for their amazing encouragement and help with the Fun Day on Saturday. We were thrilled with the whole outreach event to our community and it was made possible by your support and hard work on the day. The number of church family who were involved was massive and your help was invaluable. May God richly bless you all.  Love and grateful thanks from The Events Team, Sheffield Diocese Mothers' Union.

Special Service and Peace Party - NEW

On the11th November 2018special Remembrance Services will be held around the country. Many will be followed by Peace Parties. Join with St Francis and millions more in remembering 100 years since the end of the First World War, as we reflect on lives that were changed irrevocably, and those that were lost.

Some 65 million men were mobilised across Europe during World War 1. Nearly a third of them were wounded. Another 8.5 million were killed and some 7.7 million were taken prisoners of war. All of them had family and friends whose lives were changed forever by the events of 1914-1918.  Put the date in your diaries and look out for more information in the coming weeks. If you are able to help in any way with the Lunch and Peace Party that will follow the Remembrance Service at St Francis - and that will be open to the community - then join us at the back of the church onSunday 8th Julyafter the 10.30 am service to share ideas.

Sunday Breakfast - NEW

The Café keys used by the Sunday Breakfast Crew have gone missing which is causing problems on a Sunday morning.  If anyone has these in their possession please return them to the office as soon as possible. Many thanks, Liz.

Walk At Roundhay Park, Leeds - NEW

Yesterday, Saturday 23rd June, Graham Shaw undertook a 10km walk, raising funds for Prostate Cancer UK.  If you would like to make a donation please speak to Graham on how to donate.  Thank you.

Charities and Missions

The charity for June and July is the DoncasterFood Bank.  TheTrussell Trustprovides support and backup to DoncasterFood Bank, which is based in the Reachout Church (formerly Christchurch) on Thorne Road.  People at St Francis and in the local community are very generous in their giving to theFoodbank.  However, more and more folk are being referred there.  Often there are not enough supplies of the essentials eg: cereals or tinned meat etc. Therefore theFoodbankis always grateful for monetary donations so that the organisers can purchase what is lacking.  Please remember theFoodbankthis summer and give generously.
